You know I hadn't given it much thought, but what I put on the floor in my home theater room is going to be almost as important as what I did with the walls and the furnishings. home theater carpeting provides insulation and effects the sound quality, so one has to make sure they know what they are buying. Or, at least that's what the sales person told me. It does make sense though. If you lay carpet in an empty room it changes the whole feel of the room because it stops the bouncing of sound.
